My First Visit

Getting Started With EM My Orthodontist

We are always excited about meeting new patients during their first visit at EM My Orthodontist. Your first orthodontics appointment will consist of a thorough examination by Dr. Mejia and presentation of your possible orthodontic treatment plan options for discussion.

We know your time is valuable, so to accelerate treatment, we may also reserve time after the exam for gathering of diagnostic records. The records include X-rays and photos that are necessary for developing the suitable treatment plan for you. This additional appointment will last between 30 minutes and one hour.

Financing & Insurance

Financial Information and payment choices is a question that comes up every time. It is one of the most searched phrases on the Internet.

At EM My Orthodontist, we are aware that orthodontic treatment is a significant financial expense and a decision that must be weighed heavily with family budgets.

The fact is that no two orthodontic treatments are the same and often vary widely.

Depending on each individual’s situation in regards to how much treatment is necessary to achieve proper teeth and bite alignment, the costs vary from patient to patient.

Do You Have Dental Insurance?

If you have dental insurance, we work well with almost all of them.

Our insurance specialists will file all the paperwork for you and will maximize their co-payment so that you can save more.

Orthodontic and Invisalign treatment costs can qualify for FSA reimbursement.

What If I Don’t Have Insurance?

Not to worry, we have many financing and payment options so that we can work out something that will fit in your budget. We pride ourselves on being able to get a very large percentage of patients to be able to afford our expert orthodontic care within their budget.

EM My Orthodontist is committed to making it possible for our patients to afford the orthodontic care they need. To this end, we accept most dental insurance, PPO’s, and managed care plans. For patients with insurance, we will file all insurance claims, thus removing their paperwork headache, while our patients simply pay their deductible and their co-payments.  All we need is a small amount of financial information from you to get started with finding your options.

EM My Orthodontist accepts most dental insurance plans that have an orthodontic benefit. We will also file all the paperwork on your behalf and get the maximum compensation allowed by your plan which mean less out of pocket costs for you.

Our insurance specialists are excellent at working with most major dental plans. We will consult with you on your first visit and inform you on how much your insurance will cover on the treatment plan we feel is best for you.

During the initial examination for each patient, we will address the following questions that cover the basics of your orthodontic treatment. We encourage you to ask questions about your orthodontic treatment plan.

Is there a condition that orthodontics can address?

Is treatment needed now or should treatment be delayed until appropriate patient age or growth, tooth eruption or other factors have occurred?

  • What treatment procedures will be used to correct the problem?
  • Do any permanent teeth need to be removed?
  • How long will treatment take?
  • How much will it cost?
  • What are my payment options?

While we can often answer these general questions about your orthodontic treatment plan during the initial examination, we will address specific areas after careful analysis of the diagnostic records. Dr. Mejia knows it is important to analyze each patient’s specific needs, because in-depth planning leads to superior results, shorter treatment time and total patient satisfaction.

We will then schedule a consultation visit to discuss treatment options, time frames and financial arrangements. We insist that our patients leave the office with a clear understanding of their specific needs, what the orthodontic treatment plan will consist of and how long it will take. Also, we will answer any additional questions about your orthodontic treatment plan.
